Marketing a book is harder then writing it.

I have been very busy marketing my book, it is harder than writing it.  And it is interesting with the new social media you run into things by accident. I was playing in Pinterest, for some reason I find it relaxing to hunt in there for favorite shows or books, and I found my book looking back at me on one of the boards.  Under Amazing Books of Indie Authors, it made my day, I got to tell you.

Formatting is not easy with pictures :(

My new book, Entering My Second Half will be published next week, I will create a nice event for the following week for it on Facebook and Goodreads.  But formatting a book with pictures
is hell on wheels.  I have never had so much trouble. It either reduced the pictures to a tiny little pic or it took them out.  Three days of my life went by as I struggled with staying up late and getting up early.  But I did it!  And now it has been submitted, happy dance! Publishing date for book is set for this coming Saturday.  Waiting for pricing and all the other stuff that comes with the final submission. Exciting Book News!!!!!

This Tuesday Chatting With Sherri will chat with author Lee Phillips about her book Child Of The Land! Lee Phillips couldn’t ignore a headline in the South China Morning Post that read “Children Condemned to Die”.  Much to her horror, the article detailed the conditions of Chinese orphanages were abandoned children often ended up in “dying rooms.”  For Phillips, it was a call to action.  She ventured to the Chinese city of Zhaoqing, where she climbed the stairs of a prison-like, cement building.  On the fourth floor, she entered a world unlike any other.  The orphanage smelled of urine and feces.  The eyes of the abandoned children haunted Phillips. But one child touched her heart more than the others – a girl named Yu Yan – Phillips was determined to adopt her.  For Phillips-and the girl-the odyssey was just beginning. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/rithebard/2015/08/25/chatting-with-sherri

Sorry for the delay in this weeks blog, first I was waiting for information on projects that I have not heard back on yet and then I threw out my bloody back again, so here is my blog, such at is, a bit late…

 

So much is happening of late. Looks like my book will be released in September, I am hoping for either my Dad’s or Brother’s birthday.  There was such a lot of trouble with the proofs that I had no choice but to delay.  I think it is a pretty good memoir and considering that I have never written a non-fiction book before I think  it is pretty good.
