The Five Red Herrings (Lord Peter Wimsey, #7)The Five Red Herrings by Dorothy L. Sayers

I loved the setting an artist community in a small Scottish fishing village. The passions are for fishing and art, which is a strange mix to me but interesting to read. Obliviously, Dorothy Sayers knows this place well and loves it. It shows a great fondness for the surroundings.

I’ve read this one a few times, it his hard to through the different accents but you get the rhythm after a while it gives it a depth that makes it sparkle.

The man who is killed is a very unlikable person. I kind of prefer a sympathetic victim myself, but there is a fascinating lot of suspects. All artists, all temperamental and different in their own way. A lot of prejudices come into play of the time, if you know history it is easy to follow if you don’t you may have to look some things up to understand.

It comes to a surprising conclusion and it all hangs one piece of evidence that is essential to every artist that is missing at the scene of the crime. I won’t tell you what it is because it will ruin the fun but if you paint will get it really quickly though it make take you a bit to figure out.
