Xena; Their Courage Changed Our World and interviews…

Sherri’s Playhouse presented the radio play; Dimness  :     http://tobtr.com/11788126  ! This was a combned show with the interview, it went very well to some excellent reviews. I am reprising it with just the play, it is very short but people might like that fact; on 9/10/20 at 7pm pt; http://tobtr.com/11807122

I am sorry about all the delays on Sherri’s Playhouse, they are due to the pandemic and sickness, (not covid but something debilitating.)  We will be back we have a bunch of great stuff in store for you, so hold on to your hats!

Yesterday was the 25th anniversary of one my favorite shows.  Thank you to the creators, writers, directors, actors, cinematographers, make up and hair, stunt people and every single person that created this gem. Know that your appreciate and loved. Speaking of that;

On Sept 8th at 1pm pacific time I’m delighted to present this amazingly fun chat with Mary D Brooks about Xena; Their Courage Changed Our World ;  http://tobtr.com/11803506  !  Mary and I met at Xena Convention many years ago, we both had a book signing, It was my very first one and I was nervous, I sat next to Mary who put me right at ease joking and chatting with me and the authors and the people asking to have us sign our books. It was one of those special moments that forged a lifetime freindship. That is what this book is all about, how the show touched the fans. There are people in it who took part in the show like Steven L Sears who wrote in the book but he is writing about us fans too. This show changed many lives for the better, through friendship, charity and inspiration. And really isn’t that what art is all about?

Chatting With Sherri welcomed back best selling author; David Farland, we talked about his latest books, judging WOTF and the changes because of the pandemic and how life is treating of him late : http://tobtr.com/11786048

Chatting With Sherri welcomed back photographer; Ian L. Sitren we had a great time chatting about his work for the Palm Springs Air and Space Museum, and his film career to his newest project on the Yiddish theater.  Of course the pandemic has effected him as everyone he can’t move around the world like he is used, but he is trying to a figure a way to bring his inspirations to life ; http://tobtr.com/11788122

Chatting With Sherri welcomed back Screenwriter/Producer/Author Brooks Wachtel!  I always have a great time chatting with Brooks, he is so smart and he knows about almost every film I love. Including the classic The Time Machine with the great Rod Taylor.  I love his stories, that is why I can’t wait for the next part of Lady Sherlock;   http://tobtr.com/11788124

Chatting With Sherri welcomed actor, scenic designer & production electrician and Foreman; of the Disney electrical Dept; Pat Osos  he was delightful with all kinds of behind the scenes stores we actully have a hero in common you have to listen to find out who it is;    http://tobtr.com/11792143

Chatting With Sherri welcomes Writers of the Future winner; Ms. F.J. Bergmann!  We talked about books and writing and why she entered the contest and what it means to her;      http://tobtr.com/11800590

The Woman on the Orient ExpressThe Woman on the Orient Express by Lindsay Jayne Ashford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I didn’t read the previews, I had no idea what it was about except it was Agatha Christie on the Orient Express. So as a lover of Agatha Christie I had to read it. I really enjoyed it, I loved how she wove her real life with this fictional account. The results of reading it, I picked up one of the books inspired in real life to her trip to the dig site. My only critique is that the dates are wildly off on one of the real life people, I won’t tell who because it will spoil the plot, but he is revealed at the end of the book.

My Book Reviews;

The Harlequin Tea Set and Other Stories (Hercule Poirot, #44)The Harlequin Tea Set and Other Stories by Agatha Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I only knew one of the nine short stories in this anthology, The Mystery of The Spanish Chest which I had read in another anthology of Poirot stories. I am not horror person so I was a not a fan of those but I thought The Actress was really clever, I liked it. The House of Dreams was utterly heartbreaking. I loved The Lonely God! So sweet. Manx Gold was a lot of fun, I love that she created a real life treasure hunt, and created a story full of clues, see if you can guess where everything is before you get to the end where all the explanations are, I couldn’t. Within a Wall was also heartbreaking. I adore Harley Quinn so I was delighted to find I had never read this story, and it is really sweet and a bit scary, just like Mr. Quinn himself.

I totally recommend it 🙂

An AutobiographyAn Autobiography by Agatha Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is about the third time I read her autobiography and it is interesting that I pluck new things out of it each time. This time I recognized two characters from one of my favorite books that I just kind of glossed over the last time.

Also I really enjoyed her view of travel and the middle east. It makes me sort of sad because some of those very sites, that her husband worked so hard on were destroyed recently. And she brings all the beauty and people of the region to life for the reader.

As your read her novels you see her grow and change with her experiences, and as you read her autobiography you see where that growth came from.

Excellent read.

Partners in Crime (Tommy and Tuppence #2)Partners in Crime by Agatha Christie

I do not have an accurate count of how many times I have read this wonderful romp. It is my go to book for a troubled heart. I really defy anyone who is down in the mouth, to read one of the short stories in this and not to be touched or smiling at the antics of Tuppence and Tommy. One of my favorites.

I, Samantha, Take This Mortal, DarrinI, Samantha, Take This Mortal, Darrin by Adam-Michael James

I really enjoyed this thoughtful closing to a wonderful series. The author who has been a guest on my show and is truly an expert on Bewitched and describes the universe of Samantha and Darrin beautifully. He has created a wonderful two-part ending of the series. He brings back a lot of favorites and delightfully explains anything that the fans might have had questions on through the years of the show. I have loved Bewitched since I was a tiny little girl and I still love it, it’s a definite must for any Bewitched fan.

 I still have two amazing radio plays coming up and could use some heavy lifting.  No pay but a lot of exposure and you get to meet people from all over via our rehearsals.  We rehearse on Skype and perform on my Blogtalk platform. It is a lot of fun and we get to act in some truly amazing plays.  We do the radio plays live, it’s a high wire act like live TV back in the day, so if you want to do something completely different, get in touch with me.

I have taken up with an idea about mentoring a few writers.  Just to get my toes wet. My mentoring is for a targeted period on a retainer for 10-15 hours specific targeted help. Non refundable.
If you like the support you can re-sign up. And as part of that deal you get a free interview on Chatting withSherri for your new book with all theadvertising that goes with that. Afterwards we can discuss how you did and how you can use the knowledge toward your own platform. Send me a note if your interested at; https://www.facebook.com/RithebardWebsite/
 We are doing Hamlet, it is a very short version so don’t worry but it is an amazing thing to produce Shakespeare. One thing I really find interesting is how many phrases and words come from this play.  If you think Hamlet is not your cup of tea listen to the words, you will be amazed how many times you hear his words in our modern language and people just don’t realize it. If you would like to take part in our next production please drop us a line;https://www.facebook.com/Sherris-Playhouse-1415103118746094/
And to get you in the mood for our radio theater here is;  My radio play Cat’sPajamas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjTbxYwWv1A was tops on Twitter in the last week 🙂
