The Haircut Who Would Be King by Robert Trebor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a fun and a very interesting satire. He combined what is happening in a humorous, fictional cloth. Very much like Mark Twain and Will Rogers he spun a tale with humor and a great deal of wit but there was just a sharp enough edge so you know it was couched in the reality of our time.

Towards Zero (Superintendent Battle, #5)Towards Zero by Agatha Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can’t believe that I owned this book and I have never read it before. I loved it! It had me looping back and forth between every character in the house. But I never guessed the killer. I think it was a fascinating study in psychology by the great Agatha Christie. The clues were there, the little slips but they seemed so normal that I did not pick them up.

Also I really enjoyed the two romances in the book that were not central to murder, I was happy that Mary had some romance, finally.

Also the man at the beginning of the book who you can’t really figure out what his part in it is till it is revealed. I think he is my favorite character for many reasons that I can’t reveal or it will give it away. But I really, really like him.

Also I find it interesting that Agatha Christie’s view on suicide that she had in The Harley Quin’s short story “The Man From The Sea,” is repeated here. And it really touched me both times, quite beautiful.

My Book Reviews;

The Harlequin Tea Set and Other Stories (Hercule Poirot, #44)The Harlequin Tea Set and Other Stories by Agatha Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I only knew one of the nine short stories in this anthology, The Mystery of The Spanish Chest which I had read in another anthology of Poirot stories. I am not horror person so I was a not a fan of those but I thought The Actress was really clever, I liked it. The House of Dreams was utterly heartbreaking. I loved The Lonely God! So sweet. Manx Gold was a lot of fun, I love that she created a real life treasure hunt, and created a story full of clues, see if you can guess where everything is before you get to the end where all the explanations are, I couldn’t. Within a Wall was also heartbreaking. I adore Harley Quinn so I was delighted to find I had never read this story, and it is really sweet and a bit scary, just like Mr. Quinn himself.

I totally recommend it 🙂

An AutobiographyAn Autobiography by Agatha Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is about the third time I read her autobiography and it is interesting that I pluck new things out of it each time. This time I recognized two characters from one of my favorite books that I just kind of glossed over the last time.

Also I really enjoyed her view of travel and the middle east. It makes me sort of sad because some of those very sites, that her husband worked so hard on were destroyed recently. And she brings all the beauty and people of the region to life for the reader.

As your read her novels you see her grow and change with her experiences, and as you read her autobiography you see where that growth came from.

Excellent read.

Cat’s Pajamas, Hamlet and The Chatty!!!

Well, I am going to try to bring my dreams of having one of my plays on stage come to life! I started a campaign yesterday on Kickstarter to get the financing to make it happen. So you can be a part of theater and put Cat’s Pajamas on the stage!  I have some great rewards listed and even if you don’t live here in California, you can be a part of the theater, kind of cool, huh?
I would like to thank everyone who listened to  Hamlet on the New Years Eve, we have had amazing numbers.  I think I can speak for the whole cast,  we were all stunned! To be honest I wasn’t sure about doing it as a recording, I like the live theater aspect of it but since it was a holiday it was nice to just press a button and let it go.  I would like to thank Everett  Robert who edited it all Christmas week, Nick Davidge for all the sound effects that he created for the broadcast, And C. B. Floyd for his help in editing the play.  And Anne Louise Fortune for adapting and directing the play for the radio theater.  For those who missed it please listen to here for our archive of it;
And to listen to the cast chat about the whole experience here is the link;
If you would like to join all the fun of our next production please drop us a line;

I am also working on a play for this season’s Sherri’s Playhouse and several books it is going to be a busy writing period for me.
