Great Interviews, Book Fair, Sherri’s Playhouse, Sherri’s Jewel Box and more…

My third annual book fair is off to a great start, I have some amazing authors coming on board! They are both new guests for my book fair and wonderful talented repeat authors with exciting new works.  It will be on Dec 25th from 11am to 6pm pacific time! I still need authors who would like to take part to get in touch with me. Send me a note and I will be happy to add you to the list. We have done very well the last two years and it is a great way to get your new books out and maybe they will become a beloved Holiday Gifts! We will once again have a raffle of books during the book fair that I would love everyone to take part in.

 I am still working on all the wonderful articles and interviews of my new issue of Sherri’s Jewel Box. There is still some finishing touches I need to do before it goes to bed including my article, yep I have been so very busy with everyone else I neglected myself. The pieces that are in this issue are so beautiful and touching. Tomorrow Saturday Oct 25th at 11am I am very  excited to interview the diverse director, photographer and author T. J Scott! His current projects as a director are ‘Gotham’, ‘Constantine’, ‘Longmire’, ‘Orphan Black’, ’12 Monkeys’, ‘Bitten’ and it was just announced that he will be directing a pilot called ‘Dark Matter’ from the producers of Stargate! He directed several episodes of Xena, Warrior Princess. He is also a talented photographer and author, we will chat about his book ‘IN THE TUB’ – portraits of Actors, Recording Artists, Models… all using a Bathtub as a common setting – with all of the profit going to Breast Cancer Research. It’s An Exciting Time For Me!

I was at this years Conjecture Convention here in San Diego. I had a great time meeting fans at my table and doing my panels. Not only did a lot of people buy my time travel book; Fantasy Time Inc. at the convention but they were interested in and bought my only two copies of Different is Beautiful. It was so much fun to meet so many different people and chat about books, time travel and  reading.  I found books and movies that I was interested in too. I was on a time travel panel that was so much fun. And  had a lively chat about Sherlock Holmes in the modern age.  I was very happy to have a panel with my friend Dru Pagliassotti about romance in fantastic fiction. It is always fun to see friends and to chat about our current work.

Writing, Chatting and New Projects….

I had an unusual experience this week. I am going to buy a new laptop because my laptop is very old. I was pricing them and I asked the clerk questions about the model’s capacity for documents. He asked me why and I explained that I was a writer. Suddenly he was asking me questions about writing. I have never had that happen like that before, not just out for the day shopping. It was really interesting and different. Of course I helped him as much as I could. He asked how to get started as a writer, how to get the ideas out. My answer, “Write, just write.”  I did go into more details but I think the most important thing for any writer is to start. The hardest thing is to just sit down in front of a blank pieces of paper. Until my Dad passed away I had never had writers block. I had a huge boulder sized block after he passed way. The way I got through it was to write something, in my case poetry and writing how I felt in my diary. It was a discipline. Now I am writing on all burners. Of course it did help to have my brother and Mom say that Dad would really be upset if he knew that I had stopped writing. That truly spurred me on. So again if you want to write and don’t know where to start. Write poetry, keep a journal. Just get the words out somehow.

This is kind of exciting my Blogtalk Radio show Chatting With Sherri, has almost reached 100,000 listeners. I am at 95, 576 listeners. Isn’t that unbelievable? So Cool!!!!!!!!
