New play and great interviews coming up!

The rehearsals are going wonderfully for Daisy Wheel, we are preparing for it’s broadcast next month.  Daisy Wheel by Everett Robert is a touching play about outsiders trying to make a life for themselves, despite being made to feel separate from everyone else.  Our cast interview will be on June 3rd and the performance will be on June 10th!  Please check for more exciting information about this new radio play. https://www.facebook.com/Sherris-Playhouse-1415103118746094/

I would also like to let you know I have several new plays by new playwrights coming up very soon, and a wonderfully talented playwright from last year who will be directing for the first time on Sherri’s Playhouse for one of his own plays, so if you would like to be part of cast in any of these wonderful plays please let us know.  Also if you’re a playwright please send me your radio play scripts, you never know they maybe on next season. https://www.facebook.com/Sherris-Playhouse-1415103118746094/

Below is my review for a book I haven’t read since I was 15 years old, it is interesting and delightful to re-read it as an adult;

A BookA Book by Desi Arnaz
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I found this treasure in a box of books I was unpacking. I got it as soon as the paperback edition came out. I remember I loved it, but I haven’t read it in years. I take very good care of my books, the pages have yellowed but it is in very good condition.

I read it again, this is pure Desi. All his charm, you can hear his voice as you read it. It’s a wonderful book. Very honest, funny and sad. It truly touches the heart and it ended on a loving note. He always loved Lucy till the day he died. And he was a devoted Dad. He called his children, his treasures.

I have laughed out loud several times. He is so naturally funny and a great story teller. And when he writes about their fights on the phone when they were separated after making, “Too Many Girls,” I can hear their voices in my head after years of watching; I Love Lucy.

I was a teen when I first read it, but as a mature woman it adds another layer to it. Not only do I hear his voice in every written word, I truly understand it. It also made want me to re-watch “I Love Lucy,” I had not really watched it for years. So I have been enjoying re-watching episodes with the inside knowledge about what happened on the set, from Desi’s memory. It just makes me love it more.

I love Lucy but I also love Desi.

This Tuesday we will have the lovely Roxanne Bland is a writer who is fascinated by words. She started 705b93cf6f940ad8956ef6.L._V375669165_SY470_writing by penning a piece of fan fiction, but soon abandoned it as her first book, The Underground, developed. While a paranormal revolution looms on the horizon, Parker, a beleaguered alpha werewolf, is locked in a bitter love triangle with Garrett, his mage ex-lover, and Kurt, his despised vampire overlord. In trying to deal with his predicament, Parker falls for Melera, an amnesic space alien, who may—or may not—be a serial killer. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/rithebard/2013/04/02/chatting-with-sherri
